Why are we different?

We are passionate about providing reliable, personalized dog care. Your dog will always be treated like one of our own, and because we're a small family business we can give each dog plenty of attention.

We also provide basic training in leash manners, recall, sit, and stay and provide a in home boarding service for consistency of service. Each service comes with a detailed drop off report with edited pictures at no extra cost. We are insured, licensed and are certified pet first aiders. We prioritize communication to keep you informed about your dog’s activities so you can relax knowing they’re in great hands.

What is the process?

We start with a complimentary meet and greet to get to know you and your dog while discussing your needs. Owners complete a client form, and references can be provided at this stage.

From there, we arrange a trial walk, hike or overnight boarding stay, ensuring that we are a great fit for your needs. After your trial period your dog will be added to the regular schedule.

What do walks look like?

Our leashed walks and hikes are pack walks with around six dogs, carefully matched based on age, ability, and personality. This ensures your dog enjoys their walks while receiving the attention they deserve. Smaller group sizes allow us to build strong relationships with each dog and the pack. Dogs travel safely in crates within an air-conditioned vehicle, with water provided during walks and hikes. We also top up their water at home and are happy to feed them if needed.

For the safety and enjoyment of all, we require dogs to be neutered (unless they’re puppies), fully vaccinated, friendly, and have basic training. At this time, we do not offer private walks or pee breaks.

What is the cost?

Leashed walks are $30.00 for 45 minutes to an hour, adventure hikes are $40.00 for 90 minutes to two hours, special rates apply for multiple dogs from the same household. These rates include pick up and drop off and a detailed drop off report with edited pictures. Payment is due every two weeks by cash, cheque or e-transfer.

Hours and service area?

Leashed walks are currently available Monday to Thursday, adventure hikes are available Tuesday to Friday. Client requests for weekend hikes are on a case by case basis service and incur a 25% surcharge. At this time we cover Langford, Duncan and Maple Bay. We do not service Mill Bay, Shawnigan or Cobble Hill.

We have been using Hot Dogs for a once a week dog hike for our two dogs. I trust Emma with my dogs, and love the honest report and photos after each hike. Highly recommended!
